Who never lost a test when starting...

We pay tribute to Wyatt Crockett, who announced his retirement from international rugby last week....a quiet achiever, and a team man who has earnt his place amongst NZ’s most capped and durable test props:

• 190 Super Rugby matches, and counting… (the most in the history of Super rugby)
• 71 test caps – 3rd on the all-time list of props (behind Tony Woodcock and Owen Franks)
• 9 seasons since his All Black debut in 2009
• 46 test caps off the bench – shared 2nd place for most bench caps (tied with Piri Weepu, behind Keven Mealamu)
• Never lost a test match when selected as a starting prop (25 starts)
• Achieved an incredible win/draw rate in test matches of 95.8% (this compares to a 90% success rate for the All Blacks over his playing career)
• Era-Adjusted Caps 33.66

This is a man who is loved by all, except his scrum opponents; a man who was spotted at the refuse station helping an old man empty his trailer; a man who is always willing to sign autographs for kids; a man who thanked everyone he could think off in his retirement speech; and a man who wants to give back to his home union, the Tasman Makos, for the next 2 seasons….
